Diversified Radiology announced the launch of its new and fully interactive Web site on radiological imaging. The new Web site hopes to further educate a variety of audience including doctors and health care administrators and patients. Improvements to www.divrad.com include highly detailed descriptions of specific examinations.

DENVER — Diversified Radiology of Colorado, P.C. launched its new Web site www.divrad.com in April to promote its vast capabilities to medical communities worldwide who seek information on radiological imaging performed and interpreted by Diversified Radiology.

The Web site was designed and built by Unleaded Software of the Unleaded Group headquartered in Denver. Features included by www.unleadedsoftware.com make this premier radiographic group’s expansive capabilities better understood by both health care facilities and patients.

This new Web site for Diversified Radiology is designed to educate a variety of audiences, including health care facility administrators who are seeking information on Diversified teleradiology program, expanding the services of their existing radiology department, and the benefits of specialized interpretations for their imaging procedures, highly specialized radiologists who may have interest in partnering or looking into employment opportunities with Diversified Radiology, and the patient population that seeks to better understand the imaging procedure or treatment they are undergoing and information about the radiologist who will be interpreting their exam.

Improvements to www.divrad.com include highly detailed descriptions of specific examinations (with additional information on video provided by Diversified’s radiologists). For example, the Women’s Radiology Services section of the Web site highlights women’s radiology services including the symptoms that warrant a medical checkup.

“Patients and those working in health care in Colorado have a level of technical sophistication that necessitates a Web presence tailored to their specific needs. Diversified’s new Web site is an interactive and intuitive resource that results in efficient information gather and education,” says Sean Bryant, M.D., a neuroradiologist at Diversified Radiology.

Since 1927, Diversified Radiology, located at Ninth Ave. and Bannock St. in the Golden Triangle of Denver, has read radiology studies for health care institutions and physicians. In its earliest years, these radiologists, led by founder Dr. Kenneth Allen, interpreted only local patients’ X-ray films. With the wide availability and adoption of the internet, access to Diversified’s expertise expanded to a national scale.

Now, Diversified Radiology’s expert team of specialty radiologists interprets radiography images for health care institutions and physicians across the country. With more than 20 hospital and medical clinic’s as affiliates (a number that continues to expand), Diversified Radiology is bringing complex services such as advanced neuro-imaging to communities that previously that had limited access to this level of medical expertise.

St. Vincent General Hospital District in Leadville is one example. Serving Lake and Chafee counties’ 2800 residents, St. Vincent aligned with Diversified Radiology in December 2008, making Diversified Radiology’s state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional radiology services accessible for residents of this rural Rocky Mountain community—too small to provide these services in the past.

Diversified Radiology’s specialty radiologists read and interpret advanced imaging usually only provided in a university setting. These studies are relayed to Diversified Radiology’s subspecialty cores located in Denver via the Internet and report back with sometimes life-saving diagnostic radiographic readings in a matter of minutes. Surgeons, emergency room staff and referring physicians in remote locations around the nation have the data at their fingertips to help triage patients and deliver treatments that are timely and accurate.

Denver Neurological ImagingDiversified Radiology employs dozens of highly respected specialty radiologists—specialists in that they have years of additional in-depth training in very specific areas of radiology, similar to a university practice, but with a higher emphasis on customer service and punctual reporting. The advantage of Diversified Radiology’s services is this specialty approach—focusing the expertise of specialist radiologists in every field of radiology conceivable including Breast Imaging Radiologists; Body Imaging Radiologists using computed tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Ultrasound; Interventional Radiologists performing minimally invasive procedures using image guidance, typically Peripheral and Cerebral Angiography, Endovascular Embolization, Angioplasty and Stent placement, Percutaneous Hepatobiliary and Nephroureteral therapies, filters, Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty, spinal injection treatments, Varicose Vein treatment, and Oncologic Tumor Ablations; Musculoskeletal Radiologists focusing on bone, spine, and joint disorders, and sports injuries; Neuro Radiologists focusing on disorders of the brain and spine and using non-invasive techniques to evaluate and diagnose complex issues such as stroke; Nuclear Medicine and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Radiologists; and Pediatric Radiologists who solely evaluate conditions specific to the younger population.

Because Diversified directs images to specific and appropriate subspecialist radiologists 100% of the time, the radiologists are able to better diagnose a variety of medical conditions quicker than X-rays read by generalist radiologists. This heightened level of radiographic readings helps physicians diagnose and treat patient disease and injuries more accurately and promptly, enhancing the patient’s outcome and experience.

If you have exhibited at any trade show, then you know the importance of obtaining reliable and steady leads. Many people stop by your trade show booth, but what is the best way to make sure you have the ability to follow up with each person that visits your booth.

Once people visit your trade show display, the next step is making contact with them, explaining your product and finding out how it can relate to them. Make sure to use the 80-20 rule, 80 percent listening and 20 percent talking. Also let them lead the conversation and they will be more open to sharing information. But before they lead make sure to obtain their information.

In previous years the best way of maintaining a lead way exchanging business cards, but with the advancement of technology everything can now be gained by the simple swipe of your pass. These passes contain all the usual information, such as name and company, but can also contain information such as the size of your company, industry served and how many times you have visited this specific show. This information all comes from the online registrations that are mandatory for shows.

Today, the most effective way of managing this information is through a variety of computer programs that helps organize this information more thoroughly. These programs are capable of handling entire process from beginning to end. Once the information has been programmed into any of these programs it is up to a dedicated member of the sales team to be the point contact for the company.

For more information regarding trade show tips and marketing information contact Trade Show Emporium at 1-866-764-2968 or visit the Web site at www.tradeshowemporium.com.

DENVER — Now, Trout’s Fly Fishing is taking their expertise in angling to a bigger pond—the internet—with the launch of their online store www.troutsflyfishing.com.

Moreover, the Web site offers more than product. Like the brick and mortar store located between Downtown Denver and Cherry Creek North, Trout’s Fly Fishing online store engages Web shoppers with personal, informative reviews and recommendations. In the Staff Picks section, owner Tucker Ladd endorses his latest finds and favorites as do his sales experts Mitch Voigt and Kyle Murphy. Even the guides Matthew Burkett and Ethan Emery dive in with their recommendations.

Gear, clothing and accessories are ranked based on performance with the five-fish designation being best-of-the-best.

The online inventory is representative of the 3,000 square-foot store with two whole floors of retail as well as a fly fishing education center and outfitting office on the third floor. The store is regarded as being the go-to source for discriminating anglers to beginner fly fishers. All the major brands in the industry are represented including: Simms Fishing Products, Patagonia, Sage Fly Rods, Winston Fly Rods, Scott Fly Rods, G-Loomis Fly Rods, Ross Reels, Waterworks Lamson Reels, Nautilus Reels, Galvan Fly Reels, Tibor and Billy Pate Reels, Rio Products International, Scientific Angler, Umpqua Feather Merchants, Fishpond, Smith Optics, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Spirit River, Hairline Dubbing and Natures Spirit, just to name a few.

The Web site was built by Unleaded Software, a division of the Unleaded Group in Denver’s Ballpark neighborhood.

New products and gear reviews, up-to-the-minute river run advisories, class schedules, and special categories — Trout Lines by rod model, saltwater lines, specialty lines — distinguish shopping at Trout’s online store versus any other online angler outlet. The Gift Section of the Web site includes recommendations at a reasonable price point—from $3.99 upward.

Right from the start, Ladd has always insisted upon educating the angler. “Sharing our expertise is what makes us different from other retailers. We put a lot of thought into our Web site to ensure that the outcome for online shoppers is as pleasant and thorough as it is for the customers who are able to visit our shop in person,” Ladd said.

Besides outright retail, Ladd installed an innovative new section on his Web site called Gear Swap through which he and his team will appraise and then sell unwanted equipment and the customer gets credit to buy the new equipment he or she wants. The Web site couldn’t be more genuine in its explanation of this service that users claim is their salvation.

“We hear it all the time…customers who say, ‘If I bring home one more piece of new fly fishing gear without getting rid of my old stuff, my wife is going to kick me out of the house.” Now avid fly fishermen can upgrade using their credit at Trout’s Fly Fishing from the gear that Trout’s experts helped them sell for store credit. Sometimes, says Ladd, that equipment is something a fisherman never used, or something that doesn’t meet his/her requirements any longer. “We will do the selling legwork for customers,” he adds.

Once a fisherman is all geared up and ready for a day on the river, Trout’s respected guides offers personal, attentive service and instruction on the best private fly fishing trout water in Colorado. Trout’s operates full-time, year-round specializing in fly fishing vacations, day trips and group events providing transportation, equipment, terminal tackle, fishing licenses and lunch for a full day trip within an hour of Denver. Additionally, Trout’s guides regularly lead destination fly fishing quests to all points on the globe.

Stop in Trout’s every Thursday and Friday evening from 4 – 7 p.m. for a weekly happy hour where you can enjoy guide prices on all flies as well as free fly tying and fly fishing seminars.

Ladd communicates weekly with customers via email. The Weekly E-Newsletter provides timely information on products and river runs, upcoming classes and more product notes.

Visit Trout’s Fly Fishing at 1303 E. 6th Ave., Denver, CO 80218 or online at www.troutsflyfishing.com.

DENVER — Gregory A. Buford, MD a board certified plastic surgeon with Beauty by Buford specializes in hand rejuvenation, breast augmentation, enhancements, body shaping, and facial restoration procedures. Dr. Buford understands just how liberating and powerful cosmetic surgery can be for women of all ages.

“We felt Mother’s Day would be a great time to showcase our signature procedures, the Total Hand Rejuvenation Treatment and Before Baby Body by Buford as unique Mother’s Day gift ideas for all moms, regardless of what stage they’re at in their motherhood journey,” said Dr. Buford.

“The major complaints that I hear from our patients are aging hands and how pregnancy and birth had a negative effect on their figures,” Buford added. “I can’t tell you how many times, after treatment, my patients tell me that I’ve literally changed their lives. Some people may laugh at the thought of plastic surgery as a Mother’s Day gift — but not my clients.”

While many women embark on motherhood with unwavering joy, changes to their bodies during and after pregnancy have an unexpected side effect: body image issues. In fact, whether it is stretch marks and less than perky breasts, or flabby tummies and thicker thighs, unwanted post-baby bodies can add to a woman’s postpartum depression. But according to Dr. Buford it doesn’t have to be that way. Dr. Buford, whose extensive training has propelled him to the forefront of his industry, pioneered the Before Baby Body, a series of services that combats the impact of pregnancy and childbirth on a woman’s body so she can get back to that body she knows and loves.

“The age old adage that …you can tell a woman’s age by her hands… doesn’t have to be the case any longer,” continued Buford.

With individually customized treatments, the Total Hand Rejuvenation treatment may include: laser treatments to remove damaged skin or age spots; chemical peels to improve the quality and texture of the skin, encouraging remodeling and collagen growth; Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane injections to instantly restore skin’s volume and replenish hydration and Intense Pulsed Light therapy to improve the appearance of age spots and other effects of skin damage.

For the many women who are interested in the rejuvenating aspects of plastic surgery, yet don’t know where to start or are discouraged by the myths surrounding plastic surgery, Dr. Buford is committed to providing clients with honest feedback so they can make informed treatment decisions. Additionally, as part of Dr. Buford’s tailor-made package, he minimizes another obstacle standing in women’s way: time.

“With a new baby, a growing family, or just simply busy with life, finding the time for plastic surgery can prove to be a challenge,” adds Buford. “But our complete suite of services blend together producing the best possible results with the least amount of downtime. Indeed, in six weeks or less after most procedures, patients will already be able to enjoy their beautiful, lasting results”.

DENVER — Andrea Lawrence Wood, Chief Designer and Founder of Interior Design Development, LLC, announced Wednesday the launch of a new Web site for her Denver-based interior design and interior architecture firm.

The new Web site, www.interiordesigndevelopment.com, showcases the first public unveiling of Wood’s newest interior design firm that specifically targets private residence clubs and fractional ownership units undergoing conversion to profitable, income-generating rental units. Coming at a time when hospitality industry belts have tightened, Wood anticipates a groundswell of interest in affordable, yet stylish hospitality design in companion with interest in green development.

The site also highlights hospitality industry projects Wood has designed throughout the course of her 26-year career, as well as luxury private residences largely in resort towns in the Rocky Mountains—Utah, Colorado and Wyoming—and desert communities of Arizona.

For decades Wood has been regarded as the go-to designer for the highest end luxury residences and hospitality venues in the Western United States. Owners would spare no expense on imported and handcrafted furniture to old-world wall finishes, hand-forged lighting fixtures and reclaimed wood timbers and flooring.

“While select individuals remain recession-proof, the majority of us are affected by today’s economic challenges,” Wood said. “The wealthy have always been conscientious of their discretionary spending, not tolerating waste. The boards of premier hospitality destinations are on notice that all construction and remodeling expenditures will be scrutinized.

“This reality is the very reason Interior Design Development has invested time into sourcing cost-conscious furniture, accessories and tradesmen with distinctive style for less. It’s about being discerning with an eye on budgets.”

Interior Design Development is currently working on projects for East West Partners at The Village at Empire Pass Village, located near Deer Valley, Utah, and on the construction of two luxury single-family spec homes in Aspen, Colo.

Wood’s pledge to clients – personal participation at every level of all Interior Design Development projects – ensures attentive communication and rewarding results.

“Our commitment is to always integrate the owner, developer, contractor, designer and architect into a cohesive design team,” Wood said. “That philosophy has set a benchmark in the industry.”

Wood’s previous work includes The Montelucia Resort and Spa in Paradise Valley, Ariz. and The Rock Resort’s Avanyu Spa in the Lodge at Vail in Vail, Colo. Wood has also worked on projects in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara, Calif., and has directed the interior design departments of two well-known architectural firms. Her design expertise has been applied to residences with average square-footage building costs of $500 to $1,200.

Wood holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Interior Design Institute in Denver. Among her many leadership roles, she was chairman of the Design Council for the Department of Architecture, Design and Graphics for the Denver Art Museum. She has been named to the Denver Business Journal’s 50 Top Women-Owned Businesses for more than a decade. Wood serves on the Design Advisory Board for Benjamin Moore Paints and on the Academic Advisory Board for The Art Institute of Colorado.

Because no matter how big your bling, when your hands don’t look good, neither will your jewels.

When it comes to daily skincare and beauty regimes, our hands are all but forgotten. Let’s “face” it, we all get excited when we hear news of the next anti-aging product that promises to eliminate wrinkles or firm and tone our complexions. Yet in our eternal quest for the latest and greatest beauty secret, we often forget to care for what could be the most sensitive body part of all: our hands. The simple truth is that our hands are actually one of the first places to start showing visible signs of aging…and by the time we recognize the problem, there’s no amount of hand cream that can reverse the years of neglect.

Thanks to advancements in cosmetic fillers and injectibles, today it’s easier than ever to breathe life back into our hands. Dr. Gregory Buford of Beauty by Buford has created a revolutionary new program called Total Hand Rejuvenation to a successfully treat age spots and discoloration from sun damage, injury scarring, loss of fatty tissues and enlarged veins… all culprits in aging hands.

With individually customized treatments designed with you in mind, Total Hand Rejuvenation may include laser treatments to remove damaged skin or age spots; chemical peels to improve the quality and texture of the skin, encouraging remodeling and collagen growth; Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane injections to instantly restore skin’s volume and replenish hydration; and Intense Pulsed Light therapy to improve the appearance of age spots and other effects of skin damage. A personalized, at home self-care package encourages prolonged results and helps keep your hands looking fresh and vibrant.

Dr. Buford’s revolutionary hand rejuvenation treatments may include:

Laser treatments to remove damaged skin or age spots and bring back smooth, fresher-looking hands

Chemical peels to improve the quality and texture of the skin and encourage skin remodeling and collagen growth

Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane injectable gels to instantly restore skin’s volume and replenish hydration

Intense pulsed light to improve the appearance of age spots and other effects of skin damage

Individually designed at-home maintenance program to encourage maintenance of revitalized skin and prevent further age-related changes

Why choose Juvederm over Radiesse?

Hands are not a very forgiving area, and Dr. Buford uses Juvederm because it’s a smoother filler with less chance for clumping and bumping. Historically, there is more pain in injection with Radiess than with Juvederm. Currently, Dr. Buford is using a topical anesthetic with the Juvederm Total Hand Revjuvenation, whereas with Radiesse, lidocane is injected prior to the procedure. Recently, a national media outlet described a similar process to Dr. Buford’s Total Hand Rejuvenation, but one that uses a different injectible – Radiesse. Dr. Buford’s use of Juvederm in his procedures is based on several key differentiators between Juvederm versus Radiesse:

Juvederm

Approved by the FDA in June 2006

A smooth consistency gel made of Hyaluronic Acid (a naturally occurring substance in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume; Acts as a natural lubricant within our bodies; Helps maintain cell hydration, joint lubrication and other biologic functions; been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair

More fluid injectible, more gelatinous and more forgiving

Injected below the skin’s dermal layers around the veins to plump and restore volume

Instantly restores skin’s volume and smoothes away wrinkles and folds

Most patients only require one treatment and see immediate improvements in the treatment areas

Minimal recovery or downtime

Long lasting (up to one year) results

Contains the highest concentration of non-animal Hyaluronic Acic of any dermal filler currently available

Does not require an allergy test

Side effects include temporary injection site reactions like redness, firmness and swelling

Radiesse

Approved by the FDA in December 2006

Composed of Calcium Hydroxypatite (microspheres of calcium that is said to fill and encourage collagen growth) NOTE: microspheres will show up on x-rays and CT scans. It is important to inform your doctor that you have had Radiesse treatments prior to the above procedures

Causes volume expansion initially due to the carrying medium

Injected below the skin’s dermal layers to fill out the hollow areas between the tendons (Elle, Feb 2007)

Initially performs as a filler; at 2-3 months it starts to degrade gel carrier; then dissolves gel carrier as new collagen is formed – is said to have immediate results from the carrier)

May require less frequent treatments or retreatments (www.radiesse.com)

Recent media article cited 10 days of swelling, arthritic feeling, and inability to perform everyday activities (Elle, Feb 2007)

Lasting results (clinical studies state up to 6 months)

Made of calcium based microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel

Does not require an allergy test

Side effects include temporary redness, bruising and swelling; there have been no studies of possible interactions between Radiesse and drugs or other substances/implants.

For those who are interested in hand rejuvenation, yet don’t know where to start or are discouraged by the myths surrounding cosmetic surgery, Dr. Buford is committed to providing clients with honest feedback so they can make informed treatment decisions. And interested parties shouldn’t be deterred by age: Of the 100 patients queried for a BODY by BUFORD survey, 46% of respondents had their first procedure between the ages of 25 and 29.

“Given the beating that our hands take, they are prone to aging much faster than the rest of our bodies,” says Dr. Buford. “So I’ve been trying to educate my clients, emphasizing that maintaining a youthful appearance starts with the hands.”

DENVER — On January 20, 2009, history will be made as Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America, marking one of the most significant events in the country’s 233-year history. The incoming administration will quickly begin its work to solve many issues facing the country and the world.

Included among those challenges, is creating a nationwide standpoint on the importance of becoming more environmentally friendly and conscious. President Obama and his executive staff will employ all available efforts to promote eco-friendly awareness in aspects of business, government and personal life, which will undoubtedly be a considerable challenge for many to completely fulfill. However, it is important to understand the consequences if these objectives are not accomplished.

Trade Show Emporium, an industry leading resource for environmentally friendly trade show displays and products, understands the challenges facing our planet and is making every stride to revolutionize the trade show industry here in America.

Currently the trade show industry, as a whole, ranks second among the United States’ most waste generated industries in the, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Among the many items found in this waste are trade show displays that could have easily been kept from reaching landfills and on to recycling facilities. It is the thousands of cases like this that make it imperative for Trade Show Emporium to devote a larger portion of its resources to the environmental cause.

One measure taken by Trade Show Emporium to combat the wastefulness of the industry, is offering an extensive line of green trade show displays, products and accessories. New green trade show products contain a significant portion of materials that had been recycled, while the entire product itself is 100 percent recyclable at the conclusion of its use.

Since adding the extensive line of green trade show displays in April 2008, Trade Show Emporium has further its other eco-friendly causes to include a display recycling service, display rental program and a 3,500 kilowatt solar panel system. The Denver-based business also works closely with the Green Merchant Alliance and GenGreenLife, both Colorado companies, to purchase renewable energy certificates and educate the public about the environment, respectively.

Unfortunately the efforts of Trade Show Emporium and the Obama Administration can only extend so far. It is the hope that everyone will accept their personal responsibilities to fight climate change and encourage others to make the quality of the environment better for future generations.

For more information regarding Trade Show Emporium’s line of green trade show products and other eco-friendly efforts please visit www.tradeshowemporium.com or call 1-866-764-2968.

Internet marketing first began in 1994 with the appearance of the inaugural banner ad on www.wired.com. Since then, internet advertising has exceeded all computer critics’ expectations, replacing print advertising as well as taking a good market share away from radio, TV, cable and billboard advertising markets.

Unleaded Software in Denver, Colorado has been recognized worldwide for its internet advertising seen on Web sites and even online newsletters like Corporate Apparel Magazine – The Voice for the Trade. Launched in January 2009, the twice-a month e-newsletter is sent directly to the mailboxes of 60,000 promotional products industry players – qualified resellers who design decorated apparel programs for their corporate clients.

Jeff Rundles, Publisher of the online newsletter directed to 60,000 readers in the logoed apparel industry, sees internet advertising as the newest low-cost form of advertising—one that he believes will replace some forms of print advertising as businesses build a more recession-proof model.

“Online advertising in a newsletter like Corporate Apparel Magazine cuts through the clutter of large print magazines, delivers pinpoint messages hot-linked to advertiser Web sites for immediate commerce, and drastically lower the cost-per-thousand (CPM) of traditional advertising,” Rundles said. “Moreover, busy sales executives now turn to the Web and e-newsletters more often for the critical trade information that drives their business.”

Standardizing internet marketing came next with the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) setting guidelines on advertising sizes with the goal of making promotions opportunities on the internet easier to understand, particularly for newbie Web advertisers. Basically, the theory of the larger the ad, the more attention it receives—the same notion as print advertising—is in force on the internet.

Size does matter even in cyberspace. It has been proven to directly relate to the number of click-throughs generated—details that will affect your internet marketing strategy.

Pop-up ads literally jump out at the visitor to get his or her attention. They are often flash ads that Web surfers can’t help but notice. This attention-getting device drives clicks.

Pop-Under ads (the same size as pop-ups) work the same way, except they pop up underneath the page the visitor is currently viewing so the ad is not seen until the window is closed.

Accepted standards for rectangular and pop-up and pop-under ads are based on pixels:

Medium Rectangle 300 x 250
Square Pop-Up 250 x 250
Vertical Rectangle 240 x 400
Large Rectangle 336 x 280
Rectangle 180 x 150
3:1 Rectangle 300 x 100
Pop-Under 720 x 300

Just like a print banner ad, internet banner advertisements are prominently displayed, but the advantage in a Web banner is that the consumer can click on it to go to the next level of information about the product or service being marketed. Banner ads are rectangular and horizontal, wide enough to display across the Web page.

Animation or flash on a banner ad commands even more attention from the Web site visitor.

Banner and button ad size suggested by IAB:

Full Banner 468 x 60
Half Banner 34 x 60
Micro Bar 88 x 31
Button 1 120 x 90
Button 2 120 x 60
Vertical Banner 120 x 240
Square Button 125 x 123
Leaderboard 728 x 90

Skyscraper ads are vertical. More discrete than banner ads, they are popular because the Web site visitor isn’t disrupted from their focus on the site they want to view. Instead, the skyscraper ad offers site visitors another column of information—even if it is advertising—for the visitor to see and read.

Skyscraper ads are especially effective on sites containing hard news that guests are visiting with a specific purpose in mind.

Skyscraper ad sizes suggested by IAB:

Wide Skyscraper 160 x 600
Skyscraper 120 x 600
Half page Skyscraper 300 x 600
